There are so many reasons why people fail at network marketing. I will just touch on 6 of them.
I began my career in Network Marketing back in 2008. I was in business for myself and I was working like crazy. I had no time to spend it with my family. I was always searching for other ways to make money and I found network marketing as a vehicle. I had joined 2 different companies in a pretty short period of time. I really did not know what I was doing and I was so used to doing everything by myself that I tried to figure out how to do this on my own! Haha! The person who signed me up in the business, didn’t know anything. There was no support or leadership. I was asking everyone I knew to join and I really did not have any plans or goals set in place.
I eventually was frustrated and tired of not doing it right. I wanted to find a better way to do the business right and I knew it was not working for me the way I was doing it. I ended up partnering up with a person I sought out online and I was taught to approach the business in a whole new way. I did what I was told to do and I started to see results. Long story short, I gained some momentum in the business and I did ok, but then I did something very stupid… I quit.
5 Reasons Why People Fail At Network Marketing
Network Marketing (multi-level marketing or MLM) is not the perfect business that will fit every person’s interests or personality. Wait… It IS the PERFECT business!!! We just tend to make it difficult to succeed! There is no 100 percent guarantee that everyone who gets involved in Network Marketing will be successful. For example, for every 10 direct sales marketers that enter this business, nine will fail and only one will be successful. Below you will find 5 reasons why people fail at Network Marketing.
#1 No Established Goals Set
Some people jump right into a business without knowing how or where to start. It is one of the most overlooked steps in any business venture. Planning and having a set of goals in mind is like having a road map to your success. It helps you get from point A to point B and shows you where are in the process. You always want to write your goals down as well. Never “think” about your goals because that is a sure fire way that you will never achieve them. Ask any leader or successful person in this business or any other venture… Write Your Goals Down! I share some more information setting goals such as S.M.A.R.T. Goals in another post. #2 It’s Impossible To Be Successful In MLM
If you are looking to get-rich-quick, you should head to Las Vegas and try their luck at Blackjack. Haha! In reality, the MLM business has the potential to provide an incredibly rewarding lifestyle; however, it is not by any means a get-rich-quick business.
If you are interested and are going to get into Network Marketing, then you better to be ready to put in consistent hard work. You must have your hourly habits blocked into your calendar month in advance to grow your business. The business will never grow itself without your hourly commitment as a true dedicated marketer. Can YOU think of a marketer that is successful in Network Marketing not doing this?
#3 I Got This… I Don’t Need Help.
Network Marketing is a wheel that has been invented and put into operation some time ago. Given that network marketing involves only the replication of strategies, it is not necessary to make an effort to alter anything. There usually is a system put in place by companies to follow. You cannot do this by yourself. This business is not made for that! That is why it’s called a “Leveraged Business.” We are so used to doing things on our own at our J.O.B.’s. It has been drilled into our heads since we were in school.
Duplication of strategies is important for success. Sometimes people somehow fall short in Network Marketing because their set of connections is unable to duplicate the process that is in place. That is why it is important to train your new people and duplicate what you have learned from your mentors and leaders. Consequently, newbies or trainees become disappointed and give up. They try and do everything themselves and it’s end up back firing.
#4 Stop The Verbal Vomit!
“All my close friends were avoiding me, even though they had no idea what it was. They THOUGHT they did, because they saw me OVER-sharing it on social media, doing it completely wrong!” This was a quote from a friend of mine actually!
You do not want to be “That Guy” with this crazy vision, talking about “we’re gonna be rich!”, and “such an amazing company”, throwing up all over facebook with your excitement! You know, all the verbal vomit, non-stop talking about “this once in a lifetime opportunity” and “the next Billion dollar company”, and “right place right time”! Haha! NO More Spamming!!!
#5 Lack of Leadership
If your mentor is not lending you a hand (teaching you), then by all means, get with somebody who will. It is important for those just starting out as a network marketer to connect with someone who has succeeded in network marketing. Even if you are brand new in the business and have recruited others, make sure you are able to duplicate what you have learned. You should get with your upline ASAP and get the right training in place for you to succeed.
My Final Thoughts
Network Marketing is just not a business for those that do not take action. People fail at Network Marketing because they do not necessarily view it as something they should have to work on. If you treat this business like a hobby, then you will lack in good results. However, with the right attitude, determination and action, you can actually become quite successful. I know because I work with people you are leaders in the industry and have succeeded. I am just duplicating what they teach me. Simple as that.
One more thing I want to sneak in here is what I personally feel is the number one reason why you would fail at Network Marketing. YOU QUIT! Of course you will fail at this. There is some insane percentage of yo out there who “try” and do the business and it does not work for you, so you quit. You blame it on the company, or you blame it on your upline. Whatever the case may be, if you don’t put the work into it, you will not get the results you should be getting. PERIOD!
It is easy to start a MLM business, which can be a “threat”. You do not take your new venture serious as the investment is low, and treat it as a “hobby”. If you treat your business as a hobby, you will likely to get paid as a hobby. I’m sure you will enjoy your products, but you will not get paid for doing nothing. There is no business in the world where you get paid to do nothing…..
I used to get so upset when I would see all these successful people talking about how they made their millions. I would sit there with my head in my hands going, “why not me? This isn’t fair! How did they do it and I can’t?” What I realized is I was going about Network Marketing all wrong. I learned a lot about Attraction Marketing from my senior business partner, but I learned even more from online marketing professionals. Once you connect a few key dots in your business, it’s inevitable for it to grow and people to be attracted to you. If you’d like to know exactly what I did, to get where I am today, then CLICK HERE for your FREE 10-day attraction marketing boot camp. Once you have gone through, I’m more than happy to work with you and teach you more, but not until you’ve first done the boot camp.
I’ll see you at the top…
